Teaching children how to care for the horses

Learning Responsibilty

Each child gets to choose the horse they want to work with or the horse chooses the child.  Their journey begins there and all the gifts that happen when a child and a horse are forging a new friendship. Caring for their horse helps them to understand that their horse doesn't just appear when they show up to the barn and then put on a shelf like a toy to be forgotten until they return.  They get to learn all the fun to be had taking care of their horse ie: feeding, grooming and cleaning their stall. As they get to know each other, both the child and the horse begin to find comfort, confidence and contentment in each others company.
